I’m completely against those diet pills. I’m not going to put something weird and unnatural in my body to burn fat, especially when there would likely be side effects like headaches, sick stomach, or diarrhea.

Yuck !  No thanks.

I had a long awaited vacation down south to go to with my family and some friends, and although I had some money to spend, I didn’t want to end up with empty pockets after my holiday.  Besides that, I wanted to shed the pounds in a healthy and responsible way.  Nothing sugary, nothing fried, nothing processed, really a crash diet plan without the crash part.  That is what I needed.

So how was I able to lose 12 pounds in a few weeks ?

If you’re like many of us, you’ve made a resolution to lose weight this year. It’s not an unusual resolution to make and you’re not alone. In fact, according to statistics, this is one of the top 10 resolutions every year. However, within a few short weeks, many have forgotten all about their resolution to lose weight. These to 10 healthy eating tips for weight loss will help you to keep to your resolution.

1. Increase the number of fruits and vegetables that you’re eating and reduce the number of carbs. You’ll find that you’re quickly filling up on the vegetables and in short order, your efforts will pay off and you’ll begin to lose weight.

2. Drink more water. Drink more water and less sugary drinks. Also be sure that you drink a full six to eight ounces of water prior to each meal and you’ll eat less because you’ll feel full.

3. Get out and get moving. It’s easier said than done to be sure but just a short 15-minute walk each day can make all the difference in how you’re feeling and your weight loss.

4. Drink at least one cup of green tea per day. Green tea has plenty of great antioxidants and it’s a weight loss must have. You’ll find that you lose up to 70 more calories per day when you include green tea in your diet.

5. Stick to serving sized. It’s easy to load up on foods that are comfort foods such as mashed potatoes and gravy, however, it’s also very detrimental to your diet program. Eat a serving of these foods but no more.

6. Never skip breakfast. This can cause you to overeat all day long. Instead, focus on a healthy breakfast that will get you through until your lunch break.

7. Keep healthy snacks on hand so that you’re not tempted to eat junk food when you’re hungry. Fill up on fresh veggies and fruits in lieu of candy, cake, and other junk foods.

8. Don’t over indulge on bread. Also, keep in mind what you’re putting on your bread. It’s fine to have a slice of buttered toast with breakfast or a salad, however, don’t double or triple the amount of butter and limit yourself to one slice.

9. Keep your sugar intake low. Sugar can add calories fast. Opt for small amounts of sugar only and if you can avoid it, do so by all means.

10. When faced with a restaurant for a meal, consider the salad options but be mindful of the dressings. Ask for dressing on the side or a vinaigrette dressing to help reduce the calories. Make sure that the salad you choose has more fruits and veggies in it than anything else. Keep in mind the croutons and keep them to a minimum to ensure that you’re staying within your calorie goals.

1. Before you ever eat your meal, drink a glass of water. Water helps to keep you hydrated and it also helps to fill you up. You’ll be much less inclined to overeat if you follow this tip. It only takes six to eight ounces of water before each meal. For some added fun and flavor consider a few slices of cucumber, strawberries or other berries, or orange (or another citrus) slices in your water.

2. Eat more fruits and vegetables and fewer carbs. By doing this, you’re going to fill up on plenty of roughage and you’ll feel fuller faster. Keep your plate ratio to 3/4 fruits and veggies and 1/4 carbs and 1/4 portion of some type of meat for best results.

3. Cut back on the bread and pasta. These are very filling and can make your body hold tighter to those calories. Also keep in mind what you’re putting on these. Are you adding more than one serving of butter? If so, cut back.

4. Brush your teeth immediately after you eat. You’ll be less inclined to eat again soon after brushing your teeth. Keep a toothbrush handy in your purse or desk drawer.

How to lose weight quick without exerciseWhile a combination of exercise and diet is the best way to lose weight and keep it off for the long term, it is possible to lose weight fast without exercise.

It is often said to take weight loss slow, to look to lose about one to two pounds of fat per week.

This may be true over a long period of time but if you are severely overweight and need to lose forty, fifty. or more pounds, losing only one to two pounds per week could cause you to get frustrated, lose your motivation and quit.

And if you are looking to go to a wedding, reunion or some other important gathering in a week or two and want to drop a quick ten pounds, the slow route of weight loss isn’t going to work for you either.

But don’t worry, you can lose a decent amount of weight in a short period of time, even if you don’t have time to exercise.

Keep in mind though that you should check with your doctor first to make sure it is okay for you to try and lose weight faster than normal.

However, it will not be easy. When trying to lose weight fast without exercise, you need to be very strict about your food intake.

For starters you are going to use intermittent fasting. This means you will only eat between 12 PM (Noon) and 8 PM. No food between 8 PM and noon the following day! It sounds tough, but once you go through it for a few days, you’ll be surprised at how easy it can be.

Second, for the first 7 days of intermittent fasting, you will also be going low carb as well. This does not mean eating lots of high fat junk food.

It does mean eliminating all sugars and processed carbohydrates. No breads, pastas, bagels, etc. Stick to things like vegetables, eggs, and all kinds of meats like read meat, turkey, chicken, tuna, pork, seafood, etc.

Do NOT start eating junk that is loaded with unhealthy chemicals, fillers, additives and hidden carbs. Stick to whole foods.
